34 Cats Seized At Stratford Home; Owners Face Cruelty Charges
STRATFORD, Conn. – The owners of dozens of felines seized from a Stratford home have been charged with animal cruelty, police said.
Police accused Fletcher and Catherine Ann Graham, both 60, of neglecting a total of 34 cats that they kept at their Sedgewick Avenue residence, according to Stratford police Capt. Frank Eannotti.
They were arrested Jan. 20, after a months-long investigation into allegations of numerous neglected cats at their home, Eannotti said.
In total, 34 cats were seized from the residence, all of which were in some state of neglect, he said.

Maryknoll Sister Mary Edna Brophy, 90
OSSINING, N.Y. – Longtime Maryknoller Sister Mary Edna Brophy, a missioner to Hong Kong, died on Friday, Jan. 13, in Ossining. She was 90.
Sister Mary Edna had been with the order for 60 years.
Typical of her lifelong desire to serve others, she donated her body to science, the order said.
A Vespers service will be held for her at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 at the Maryknoll Sisters Center, 10 Pinesbridge Road.
A funeral Mass is set for 11 a.m. on March 10will follow on Friday, March 10 in the main chapel at Maryknoll.

Hastings-On-Hudson Rally Aims At Trump's Immigration, Refugee Policies
HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – A group opposed to the new administration’s policies on immigration and refugees is planning to hold a rally in Hastings-on-Hudson this Saturday, Jan 28.
According to Frank Brodhead, coordinator for Concerned Families of Westchester, the event will feature “the words of refugees, immigration lawyers, politicians” and “some ordinary folks.”
Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner has been invited, but it was not known Wednesday if he planned to attend.
The group has members in Hastings-on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington and Yonkers.
