Passaic County Man's West Nile Death Marks First Since 2013 PASSAIC COUNTY, N.J. -- Last week, a 65-year old Passaic man died due to West Nile Virus, according to the New Jersey Department of Health. The victim, who was not identified, was the 7th confirmed case of West Nile in New Jersey, according to a Department of Health's communications team. This is the first West Nile case to result in death since 2013, a year in which there were 2 recorded deaths.  The New Jersey Department of Health is urging citizens to take proper protection against mosquito bites and subsequent infections.
