Paul Milo has worked as a reporter in northern New Jersey for more than 20 years, first for North Jersey Media Group / NorthJersey.com, then at Patch.com and at NJ.com / The Star-Ledger. He has written about a 106-year-old World War I veteran, the Sept. 11 attacks and a 15-year-old stock manipulator who was the youngest person ever civilly charged by the Securities and Exchange Commission, among many other stories. He has interviewed governors, presidential candidates and celebrities including Ryan Seacrest and comedian Kevin Hart.

In addition to his work for New Jersey-based outlets, he has also written for BeliefNet, Editor and Publisher, The Huffington Post, The Boston Globe and other publications, as well as freelance assignments for global chemical company BASF.

His first book, Your Flying Car Awaits, was published by HarperCollins in 2010. As part of the book’s promotional efforts he was interviewed by The New York Times and on WNYC radio’s The Brian Lehrer Show

Landscaper Killed In Union Identified A landscaper who died Friday morning after a co-worker accidentally ran him over  at a Union worksite was identified by police Saturday. Jorge Velazquez, 38, of Staten Island, was working on a curb line at the Costco parking lot on Hudson Street when the co-worker, who was driving a pickup, ran over Velazquez while backing the truck up.  Police did not release the name of the driver, citing the ongoing investigation. Dad, Neighbors Save Kids From Jersey City Fire: Report Fire gutted a multi-family Jersey City home Friday morning, but a far greater tragedy was averted by a quick-acting father and some helpful neighbors, WABC 7 reported.  The fire, at a home on Gates Avenue, broke out around 11 a.m. A resident "did drop three children out of the window and onto an awning," Chief Steven McGill told the station. Neighbors on the street helped catch the children.  The cause of the fire was still under investigation.

Fred Daibes' Englewood Associate Pleads Guilty In Multimillion Dollar Loan Fraud A real-estate developer admitted he lied to government regulators in order to obtain millions in bank loans, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Friday.  James Demetrakis, a 79-year-old Englewood resident, was accused of working with his longtime business partner, Fred Daibes, to get loans in excess of what was permitted under banking guidelines.
