Briarcliff resident Dr. Scott Mosenthal was officially appointed to the interim position by the Board of Education on Wednesday, Dec. 7. He will be replacing Dr. Barbara Ferraro who will head the 1,575-student school district at the end of the year when Superintendent Dr. Peter Mustich retires. Principal Ferraro is also the current assistant superintendent for curriculum. She will be reportedly paid $260,000 a year as superintendent. Salimbene was killed in a fire at the Boulevard residence, where he also had his medical offices.
