3 Officers Charged, 2 Plead Guilty In Beating, Cover-Up At Fishkill Prison FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Several correction officers at a Fishkill prison have been charged with beating an inmate there in 2013, according to Preet Bharara, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Two of the five charged in the incident at the Downstate Correctional Facility and subsequent cover-up have pleaded guilty and are cooperating with investigators, Bharara said Wednesday. The other three were arrested by the FBI early Wednesday. Indian Point Emergency Sirens Will Sound At Full Volume During Test Indian Point will be testing all 172 of its emergency sirens at full volume in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Orange counties at approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21. Entergy’s nuclear power plant is in the village of Buchanan, in the town of Cortlandt. Emergency officials are emphasizing that this is only a test. It will be followed by a message from the Emergency Alert System (EAS) on radio and television stations. State Reaches Deal To Keep Sikorsky HQ In Stratford, Build New Helicopters STRATFORD, Conn. -- The state of Connecticut has reached an agreement with aerospace giant Lockheed Martin to keep its Sikorsky Aircraft headquarters in Connecticut at least until 2032, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced Tuesday. In exchange, the state will provide financial incentives of up to $220 million over the term of the agreement, the governor said.
