Dutchess Sex Abuse Case Spurs Call To Close Gap In Laws On Reporting SOUTHWEST DUTCHESS, N.Y. – The case of a former Dutchess County Boy Scout leader found guilty of molesting two teenage boys has spurred a call for the broadening of mandatory state reporting laws, according to The Poughkeepsie Journal. Michael Kelsey, a former county legislator from Salt Point, was convicted in May of fondling one of the scouts and trying to touch the other while on an Adirondacks camping trip in 2014. Chatty Kitty Up For Adoption At Clarkstown Animal Shelter CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- If you like chatty pets, the Hit Tor Animal Care Center in Clarkstown has a kitty for you. Raven, a 3-year-old black-and-white female, is “super talkative,” shelter folks say. “It is not unusual to hear her chirping away wherever she is,” they said in a #findahomefriday tweet. Raven is very social with other cats and humans, and craves attention, they said. The shelter is located at 65 Firemen’s Memorial Drive, Pomona. It can be reached by calling (845) 354-7900. Its hours are 12 noon to 5 p.m. every day expect Wednesday, when it is closed to the public.

Fairfield Man Nabbed In Reality TV Sex Sting Gets 2 Years Behind Bars FAIRFIELD, CONN. -- A Fairfield man caught in a child sex sting will spend two years in prison, according to a report by ctpost.com. Charles E. Lawrence III, a 60-year-old accountant and real estate dealer, was sentenced in Superior Court in Bridgeport Friday to eight years in prison, suspended after he serves two , ctpost.com reported. 20-Year-Old Faces Dwai Charge After Ramapo Car Crash RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A man found himself under arrest after a one-car accident in Chestnut Ridge Sunday, Ramapo police said. The unidentified 20-year-old driver from Brooklyn crashed his car on Hungry Hollow Road around 8:25 p.m., police said. He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana and refusal to submit to a chemical test, police said. NY Activates Emergency Response For Tropical Storm Hermine As Tropical Storm Hermine heads up the East Coast after slamming Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was announcing plans to activate the state’s emergency response center.
