NYC Sex Offender, 46, Moves To Spring Valley
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. – A registered sex offender from New York City has moved into a home in Spring Valley, according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
The man, Marlon Bennett, was convicted in 2012 of third-degree rape in a 2005 case involving a 12-year-old New York City girl, the DCJS said. He was in his thirties at the time.
Bennett, 46, was sentenced to 18 months to three years in state prison. It was not known exactly how much time he served.

Brand, a professional basketball player turns 38 on Saturday.
Elton Tyron Brand was born on March 11, 1979, and attended Peekskill High School.
By his senior year, he was ranked among the top high school basketball players in the country and was named the state’s “Mr. Basketball.”
Brand, who now plays for the Philadelphia 76ers, played college ball at Duke University and was drafted by the Chicago Bulls.

Joan E. Rittinger, 90, Of Poughkeepsie
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Joan E. Rittinger of Poughkeepsie died Saturday, March 4, at Wingate at Ulster in Highland. She was 90.
Rittinger had been a waitress, bartender, and hostess at Aloy’s and Christos, two restaurants in Poughkeepsie.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie and a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital, working in its gift shop. She also loved to cook, sew, do needlework, and garden.
Rittinger is the daughter of the late Charles J. and Maude (Bell) Smith.
She was the widow of the late Harold T. Ward and of the late Charles Rittinger.
