Hungarian-Americans Ask Trump To Name Westchester Native Pataki Ambassador
An unnamed lobbying group has been deluging President Donald J. Trump with letters urging him to tap Garrison resident George Pataki as the next U.S. ambassador to Hungary, according to multiple media reports.
The group first asked the Peekskill native’s daughter, Allison, a best-selling author and journalist, but she demurred, suggesting instead that it ask her dad, according to a report by Hungary Today.
Pataki is reportedly open to the idea, but there have been no formal offers from Trump’s camp, Hungary Today said.

Arlington HS Student George James DeMasi, 15, Dies After Battle With Cancer
A 15-year-old student at Arlington High School in Poughkeepsie has died after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
George James DeMasi, passed away on Friday, March 3, at home.
DeMasi was born in Carmel to Joseph and Nicole (Guerts) DeMasi.
A sophomore, he loved playing sports, especially basketball. His family said he also liked art, playing video games, and spending time with his friends.
George’s selfless and positive attitude, along with his sense of humor and smile, helped his family and friends weather the dark days of his illness, his family said.

Jane Quattrochi, 65, Of Poughkeepsie Dies Days After Husband Charles, 66
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Jane Quattrochi, a Poughkeepsie resident and beauty parlor owner, died Thursday, March 2, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 65.
Her husband, Charles, had died less than a week before, also at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, on Friday, Feb. 24. He was 66.
Jane Quattrochi operated the Shear Success and Beauty Parlor in Highland for more than two decades.
She was born in Yonkers to the late William F. and Evelyn (Gallagher) Young.
She was a 1969 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers and a member of Holy Trinity Church.

Jeanne Rodriguez Schiller, a teacher in the Lakeland School District, died at her Mohegan Lake home on Wednesday, March 1, after a long illness. She was 48.
Schiller had been teaching sixth-graders at the Copper Beech Middle School in Shrub Oak since 2001.
Prior to that, she had been a special education teacher at Greenburgh-Graham Union Free School District in Hastings-on-Hudson.
Born in Manhattan, she moved with her parents, Albert and Mary (McGowan) Rodriguez, to Garnerville in Rockland County.

Cortlandt Manor Woman Drove Drunk, Fled Accident, Yorktown Police Say
A Cortlandt Manor woman is facing several charges after Yorktown police say she drove while drunk and then fled the scene of a two-car crash.
April J. O’Connor, 25, was arrested around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, after getting into an accident in the area of Route 6 and Lee Boulevard, police said.
The driver who stayed at the scene told police that the other motorist had left.
Local officers and state troopers stopped O’Connor on Route 6.
Tests showed that O’Connor had a BAC, blood-alcohol content, of .18 percent, police said.
