Norwalk Shutters Massage Parlor After Multiple Raids
NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk spa police have raided multiple times during prostitution investigations has been shut down by the city, according to The Hour.
Two employees of Nirvana, a massage parlor in the Blackstone Plaza shopping center at 181 Main St., were arrested Thursday and charged with promoting and permitting prostitution, The Hour reported.
They were identified as Flushing, Queens residents Guishun Li and Lan Li, both 49, The Hour story said.

Acadia Breaking Ground On New Cortlandt Shopping Center
CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Ground will be broken for the Cortlandt Crossing Shopping Center project at ceremonies this Friday, Oct. 21, according to developers, Acadia Realty Trust.
The new retail venture, Acadia’s second in Cortlandt, is expected to have 10 stores.
Monique Peterson, a spokeswoman for Acadia said she was not at liberty to reveal the names of potential tenants.
The site is located on the north side of Route 6, aka Main Street, just across the street from the real estate investment trust’s first ground-up shopping center, the Cortlandt Town Center.

Connecticut Ranks As 9th Most Energy-Efficient State, WalletHub Says
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, CONN. -- Connecticut has been ranked among the top 10 most energy efficient states in the country, according to WalletHub’s latest analysis.
October is National Energy Month, and the personal finance website looked at how the average household spends money on energy bills.
Alaska and Hawaii had to be eliminated from the study because of “data limitations,” WalletHub said.
Connecticut came in ninth, behind New York, Utah, Minnesota, Vermont, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Massachusetts and Colorado, in that order.

Daisy The Arson Dog Steals Show At South Salem Firefighters' Event
SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The community turned out in force for a recent open house at the South Salem Fire Department to enjoy firefighting demonstrations, get free blood pressure screenings, nosh on goodies and play in a bouncy house.
But it was Daisy the Arson Dog who stole the show.
The 5-year-old black Lab, who has her own Facebook page, was introduced to the crowds on Saturday, Oct. 15, by her handler, Detective John Peters of the Westchester County Police.
