Armonk School's 'Buddy Bench' A Place Where Friendships Are Formed ARMONK, N.Y. -- There is a new, blue bench in a schoolyard in Armonk, but it’s not just for sitting on, it’s a place where new friendships are being formed. When students at the Coman Hill Elementary School feel lonely, or simply want someone new to play with, they park themselves on the “Buddy Bench” and wait, says school librarian Jane del Villar. Other students are encouraged to take him or her up on the offer. Westchester Coyote Run-Ins Increase Interest In 'Wild Dogs' Westchester Coyote Run-Ins Increase Interest In 'Wild Dogs'
Westchester Coyote Run-Ins Increase Interest In 'Wild Dogs' Recent serious run-ins between people, coyotes and pets in the Hudson Valley have piqued the public’s interest in – or even fear of – the wild dog. But contrary to what one local official suggested in a weekly report to residents, or what may have been posted on community chat boards, there are no offspring from present-day coyote-wolf dalliances prowling around the countryside, say wildlife experts. First of all, there are no wild wolves in New York. Secondly, the likelihood of coyotes getting together with wolves, or ordinary dogs, is highly unlikely since the animals have different matin…

Larchmont Mamaroneck Community TV Hopes To Find New Home In Heart Of Town MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- With only a handful of media outlets left in Westchester, it is more important than ever that communities retain their local news and sports coverage, says a Mamaroneck-based public access television station.
