Stamford Man Charged With Assaulting Sleeping Woman
STAMFORD, CONN. -- A city woman who fell asleep after her date dropped her off at home in July awoke to find him in bed with her, police told The Stamford Advocate.
Police said the suspect, 23-year-old Jose Penaranda of Wardwell Street, had been trying to take the woman's clothes off, The Stamford Advocate reported.
He fled when the woman started screaming, The Stamford Advocate said.
Penaranda, who had not been invited into the woman’s home, was eventually found and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, The Stamford Advocate story said.

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- A former train station in Mount Vernon is being torn down and, its owner hopes, eventually replaced with apartments, according to a report by lohud.com.
The Italianate-style building, at 222 East Third St., was once the fanciest of five stations run in the city by New York, Westchester and Boston Railway, lohud.com reported.
According to the lohud.com article, the property’s managers, Mastermind, want to build 200-300 units once the city re-zones the commercial-industrial area to allow housing projects.
